Volunteering is at the heart of the Foothill Chapter. Last year Foothill Chapter volunteered hundreds of hours of service as well as hundreds of dollars of donations to a wide variety of approved philanthropies. Areas we support include:

Ability First, Pomona Center
The Ability First Claremont Center provides programs for children and adults ages 5 to 22 with physical and developmental disabilities, such as autism, cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, and epilepsy.
American Cancer Society, Inland Empire Unit
The American Cancer Society, Inland Empire Unit, supports and provides information to cancer patients and their families that includes fundraising for research, programs and services through their Discovery Shop, as well as Relay for Life events.
Casa Colina is a non-profit, freestanding, community-governed rehabilitation organization in Pomona that has been in existence since 1938. Among its services are a rehabilitation hospital, transitional living center, outpatient assistance, and children’s services.

The Claremont Educational Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides art and music instruction in the elementary schools and funds technology in the middle and high schools. CEF operates S.L.I.C.E. of Summer, an enrichment program for CUSD students, offering academic and athletic programs.
Children’s Fund helps at-risk, abused and neglected children in our communities. It provides referrals for housing, clothing, food, beds, medical and dental care. It partners with many community organizations for projects that help raise funds for and awareness of this organization. It is a 501(c)3 nonprofit.
Claremont Manor Retirement Community residents enjoy social, educational and recreational opportunities and scheduled transportation to doctors, excursions and shopping. Claremont Manor’s Care Center includes rehabilitation and skilled nursing care with a wide range of therapy programs.
Claremont Recreation Dept
The Claremont Recreation Department oversees events such as the city’s Summer Aquatics Program for all ages, youth summer days campus and programs at the Joslyn Senior Center.
The mission of Community Senior Services is to connect, people, information, resources and communities to enrich the lives of older adults. The agency has eight programs that serve 16 cities.
EYE-DAS is dedicated to helping the visually impaired in the San Gabriel Valley. Membership is open to any adult with impaired, partial, or no vision. Sighted individuals are welcome.Meetings are for social and educational purposes.
Foothill Family Shelter’s mission is to assure children and adults a future by helping to provide them and their families a means to a home, a job, and self esteem that will endure.
Full-time housing for elderly residents and for those who are recovering from an illness or hospitalization and require medical care.
Pomona Valley Habitat for Humanity is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. It works with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing.
Hillcrest Homes Retirement Home and Woods Health Services Skilled Nursing Facility provides extended-stay nursing care to seniors with varying levels of disabilities in La Verne, CA.
HOPE’s goal is to raise awareness to the pet overpopulation crisis in our local area. We help rescue and place animals in qualified homes. To reduce pet overpopulation, we’ve been hosting low cost spay/neuter opportunities since 2004.
House of Ruth has been providing life-saving domestic violence services for residents of eastern Los Angeles and western San Bernardino counties since 1977. Participation in House of Ruth programming is open to all battered women and children.

Inland Christian Retirement Home has three components: assisted living, skilled nursing and Alzheimer’s care (The Haven).
Inland Valley Hope Partners brings together faith communities, businesses, individuals and community groups, and has a mission to ensure the empowerment of people in need by providing food, shelter and supportive services. It serves children and their families through four food pantries, a residential family shelter “Our House,” and the Pomona Certified Farmer’s Market.
Lincoln Elementary School is a special needs school dedicated to promoting life-long learning through a collaborative partnership among students, parents, and staff to benefit the academic success and character development of all.

Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center is a 453-bed acute care, not-for-profit, teaching hospital serving Eastern Los Angeles and Western San Bernardino counties.
Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden in Claremont is the largest botanic garden dedicated exclusively to California’s native plants. The garden hosts interpretive walks, plant sales, school programs and more. Special events include Garden Groove (summer music concerts), the Butterfly Pavilion, Family Bird Fest, Wildflower Show, Mother’s Day Brunch, Things That Go Bump in the Night, Acorn Festival, Winter Holiday Open House and more.
Reach Out is an organization committed to strengthening communities by providing programs that create hope, education and empowerment for families throughout the Inland Empire and Pomona Valley.

Santa Claus Incorporated, an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff or administrators, provides new toys, new clothing, and new books to local under-served children.
Sunrise Senior Living in Claremont is an active senior community with five areas: independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing and short-term stays. They have ongoing events as well as special events throughout the year.
